The metaverse is a concept popularized by Neal Stephenson in his 1992 science fiction novel, Snow Crash. The idea is that with virtual reality technology, people will be able to create and inhabit shared virtual spaces, digitally representing physical locations and experiences that can be seen and heard by others on networked computers. The shared spaces would come together in a global environment called a metaverse.
A relatively new type of crypto-token that can represent things like in-game assets or unique digital collectibles (such as CryptoKitties). NFTs are completely unique from one another and can be traded on decentralized exchanges. Decentraland is an open source virtual reality platform powered by Ethereum, Aragon, and IPFS. 3D: The future of VR/AR development will have users creating content in three dimensions and then interacting with that content using VR/AR headsets.
